412 shifts · worker already paid
Forty-one shifts are in the diary for dates when the worker will not be placeable. Every one was booked in good faith by a consultant looking at a worker who is compliant today. Nothing in the booking screen knows what expires between now and the shift.
Where the register actually stands
1,840 workers by whether they can legally be placed right now
160 workers are on the register and cannot work. Consultants still ring them, because the list they call from is a spreadsheet of names and phone numbers rather than a list of people who can actually be booked.

What is expiring
268 documents in the next 30 days, by type
| Document | Expiring 30d | Workers | Renewal lead time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mandatory training | 84 | 84 | 1–3 days |
| Enhanced DBS | 47 | 47 | 2–8 weeks |
| Skills cards | 41 | 41 | 1–3 weeks |
| Professional registration | 38 | 38 | Worker-led |
| Right to work | 29 | 29 | Varies |
| Occupational health | 29 | 29 | 1–2 weeks |
A DBS takes up to eight weeks. Chasing it thirty days out is already too late — which is why the reminder has to run off the renewal lead time, not a fixed window.

The February spike is one audit at one trust. Wrenmark was suspended from that framework for six weeks and lost 340 shifts of volume it has never fully won back.

Employment gaps are the one that fails audits. They are also the most boring thing in the file, so they are the thing that gets left. An audit does not sample the good files — it samples at random.
Shifts booked that cannot legally be worked
Booked in good faith. Every one is a credit waiting to happen.

Rows open the worker's file. The system will not let a shift be booked past a worker's binding expiry date without a named person overriding it and saying why.
